Kuwait's energy consumption hits KWD 2bn/yr – Research

Mubasher: Kuwait consumes about 350,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil which equals KWD 2 billion per year, said Ayman Al Qattan, Renewable Energy Programme Manager at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR).

By 2020, Kuwait will save about 3% of energy domestic consumption through renewable energy sources, Annahar newspaper reported, citing Al Qattan as saying.

After operating Al Dabdaba solar plant project, Kuwait will produce 1.55 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy by 2020, Al Qattan added.

Kuwait is at pains to save about 15% of local energy output from clean energy sources.
