Kuwait-Mubasher: Kuwait’s overall export unit value index declined 36.8% in the second quarter, from April to June this year, according to a report issued by the state’s central statistical bureau.
In Q2, both the index of fuel and non-fuel products dropped by 38% and 17.2%, respectively, compared with 2014.
Meanwhile, the overall import unit value index levelled down by 1.3% in Q2-15.
The report noted that the index of food, beverages, and tobacco; and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) fell 0.3% and 2.3%, respectively.
The crude materials index rose by 19.9% in Q2-15 as compared with Q2-14.
The overall export volume index retreated 3.3% in Q2-15, compared with Q2-14.
“Import volume index increased 11.2% in second quarter of 2015 as compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year,” said the report.
