Mubasher: Recent data showed that Kuwait’s holdings of the US Treasury bonds decreased by 1.45% in January when compared to December 2018.
Kuwait’s holdings of the US debt instruments declined to $40.7 billion in January from $41.3 billion last December.
On an annual basis, Kuwait’s holdings of US Treasury bonds increased by 10.29% when compared to $36.9 billion in January 2018.
The US Treasury bonds for Kuwait varied as $33.55 billion long-term bonds, while the short-term bonds stood at $7.14 billion.
Among the Arab countries, Kuwait came in the third place for the holdings of the US Treasury bonds, while Saudi Arabia topped the states with holdings of $166.6 billion, followed by the UAE with $56 billion US Treasury bonds in January 2019.
