Mubasher: Kuwait’s inflation rose 0.44% year-on-year in December 2018, according to data released by Kuwait’s Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) on Wednesday.
The Gulf nation’s consumer price index (CPI) went up to 113.5 points last month, from 113 points in December 2017, the data indicated.
Month-on-month, the inflation rate grew 0.27%, against 113.2 points in November 2018.
The annual inflation growth was led by eight groups headed by cigarettes and tobacco which surged 13.4%.
Meanwhile, seven groups prompted the monthly inflation rise led by education which rose 1.34%, while restaurants and hotels edged down 0.08%.
