Kuwait-Mubasher: The Producer Price Index (PPI) of Kuwait reached a level of 71.400 points during the third quarter of 2015, a decrease of 13.14 % as compared to the second quarter, according to a report issued by Kuwait’s Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).
The index of the extractive industries fell by 14.62% as ‘crude oil’ index declined by 14.51 % in Q3. The index of the manufacturing industry dropped 11.81 %, after the refined oil prices dropped 16.85%.
Meanwhile, the report noted that PPI decreased by 47.15% in July, August, and September during 2015 as compared to the same quarter of 2014.
On an annual basis, the extractive industries group shrank 52.65 %, as ‘crude oil’ prices sank 52.69 %. The index of the manufacturing industry retreated 40.51%, dragged by a 50.78% decrease in the ‘refined oil’ prices.
