Kuwait’s stock market sees downward trend in mid-session

Kuwait-Mubasher: The benchmark index of Kuwait Stock Exchange kept its downward trend in mid-session by retreating 0.4% or 22.9 points to settle at 5,663.26 points at 11:20 am Kuwait local time on Sunday.

The weighted index fell by 0.32% or 1.25 points to reach 382.75 points. Also, the Kuwiat-15 index lost 0.29% or 2.69 points to approach 912.11 points.

In the early trades, the benchmark index dropped 0.33%, while both the weighted and Kuwait-15 were in the green zone.

Telecom sector led the decliners, after Viva and Zain fell by 1.8% and 1.4% respectively.

Real estate sector lost 1.3%, while banks sector posted 0.26% decline.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector topped the gainers by 0.8%.

Human Soft was the top winner by a growth of 8.16%, while Burgan for Will Drilling.

Turnover amounted to KWD 575.80 million, after nearly 34.72 million shares were traded through 13,240 transactions.
