Mubasher: The trade surplus of Kuwait grew by 1.3% year-on-year to KWD 5.05 billion ($16.7 billion) during the first six months of 2019, according to a report released on Wednesday by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).
Kuwaiti imports declined by 3.9% to KWD 5.11 billion in H1-19, from KWD 5.32 billion in the year-ago period.
On the other hand, exports went down by 1.3% to KWD 10.16 billion from January to the end of June, against KWD 10.3 billion in H1-18, the CSB’s data showed.
In June, the trade surplus of the GCC country dropped 22.7% year-on-year to KWD 776 million.
Kuwait’s trade exchange reached KWD 2.32 billion in June, compared to KWD 2.56 billion the year before.
