Kuwait’s trade surplus with Japan falls 48% in March

Mubasher: The trade balance surplus between Kuwait and Japan decreased by 48.3% year-on-year in March, according to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance.

Trade surplus between the two countries reached JPY 22.1 billion ($197.5 million) a month earlier, down from JPY 42.79 billion ($382.2 million) in March 2018, the ministry added.

The decline was attributed to a 36.1% decrease in the GCC nation’s March exports to Japan, reaching JPY 38.5 billion, compared to JPY 60.3 billion a year ago.

Year-on-year, Japanese exports to Kuwait tumbled 6.4% to JPY 16.38 billion in March, from JPY 17.49 billion.
