Kuwait - Mubasher: The Kuwaiti minister of electricity and water Ahmad Al-Jassar signed on Sunday a contract worth KWD 17.4 million ($57.77 million) to replace overhead power lines in scattered areas across the country, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The ministry of electricity and water noted that the deal, signed with electromechanical firm EMECO, includes replacing 300,132-kilovolt power lines in various areas in the country, the ministry said in a press release.
The refurbishment is expected to result in maximal and durable electrical capacity, the statement said, adding that the contract is valid for 34 months, where the company will be using up to 500-kilovolt electrical equipment.
