Kuwait suspends fingerprint attendance systems due to coronavirus

Mubasher: Kuwait's Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Thursday suspended the use of fingerprint-based attendance systems in all government entities, according to the Kuwaiti Center for Government Communication’s (CGC) official Twitter page.

The decision comes into effect as of Sunday, 1 March, the government’s official spokesperson Tareq AlMezrem emphasized.

New temporary directives will be issued in light of efforts to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, he noted.

Earlier today, a total of 43 coronavirus cases were confirmed in the Arabian Gulf country.
