Mubasher: Kuwait will start repatriating Kuwaiti students in the US next Thursday, 30 April, via direct flights to Kuwait through Qatar Airways, state-run Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Saturday.
The move is part of the grand repatriation operation in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The flights will take off from Washington, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, and Texas. One flight from each destination will fly every day for a couple of days, Kuwait’s ambassador to the US, Salem Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah, told KUNA.
He added that Qatar Airways will launch a website where the students can manage their bookings. Cultural centres in Washington and Los Angles will provide the students with the flight schedule and required instructions, which they are obliged to abide by.
It is noteworthy that on 23 April, Kuwait commenced the second phase to repatriate Kuwaiti nationals from the US.
