Kuwait to invest $20bn in air transport

Mubasher: Kuwait is planning to invest as much as $20 billion in the air transport sector over the coming years, president of Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation Salman Al Hamoud Al Sabah said on Monday.

The Middle East is expected to witness a great expansion in air transport investments, which will double the size of the sector in the next 15 years, Salman Al Sabah added, during his participation in the executive committee meeting of the Regional Safety Oversight Organization Middle East and North Africa (MENA-RSOO) in Riyadh.

This will add daunting challenges before the flight safety oversight sector, he noted.
