Kuwaiti, Canadian investors to acquire 26% of Thames Water

Cairo – Decypha: Canadian pension fund investor Borealis Infrastructure and the infrastructure investing arm of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) are planning to acquire 26% stake Kemble Water, the holding company of Thames Water, Britain's largest water and wastewater services provider, UK’s Independent reported.

 

The deal is financed by funds from an investment bank managed by Macquarie, and is viewed as the latest of several high-profile acquisition of British infrastructure by overseas investors.

 

No financial details were disclosed, according to Reuters.

 

Thames Water serves 15 million customers and supplies 2.6 billion liters of drinking water per day.
