Kuwaiti bourse ends Monday lower

Kuwait – Mubasher: The benchmark index of Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) retreated 0.74% or 39.9 points to end Monday’s session at 5,358.53 points.

Both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices dropped 0.9% each.

KSE’s liquidity gained 0.71% to stand at KWD 9.89 million, while trading volume shrank 6.8% to 64.13 million shares.

The financial services sector headed 10 decliners with a fall of 1.55%, dragged by Ekttitab which lost 6.4%.

The banks sector also levelled down 1.09%, affected by the decline of NBK and KFH with 1.69% and 1.06% respectively. 

Similarly, the real estate sector inched down 0.97% in line with the fall of 13 stocks headed by Marakez which was the top loser with 7.5%.

Meanwhile, the technology and insurance sectors were the only gainers with a gain of 0.44% and 0.02% respectively.Remal Real Estate was the most active stock on which 5 million shares were traded through 131 transactions at a value of around KWD 250,300. The stock went up 2.04%.

NBK recorded the highest trading value of KWD 2.3 million, after 3.9 million shares were exchanged through 57 deals.
