Kuwaiti bourse in green; volume doubles

Kuwait – Mubasher: Kuwait Stock Exchange indices ended Monday in the green zone, as the price index rose by 0.75% or 41.7 points to 5,613.66 points.

The weighted index also gained 0.53% or 2 points to close at 382.49 points and KSX15 rose by 0.6% or 5.4 points to 907.43 points.

Monday’s turnover increased by 35.4% to KWD 10.28 million ($33.76 million), from KWD 7.59 million ($24.94 million) on Sunday.

Traded volume also rose by 100.2% to 108.35 million shares from 54.13 million shares. The number of transactions rose to 2,723 from 2,008.

The consumer services sector was the biggest gainer, with 1.77% growth, while technology led decliners with a fall of 0.43%.

Kuwait Cable Vision stock was the best performer, with a rise of 11.11%, while The Securities House was the biggest drag with a plunge of 9.09%.

Manazel was the top active with a traded volume reaching 17.92 million shares, while NBK recorded the biggest liquidity reaching KWD 3.79 million.
