Kuwaiti bourse indices mixed at close

Kuwait-Mubasher: The benchmark index of the  Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) ended Wednesday’s session at 5,386.1 points after gaining 0.16% or 8.35 points, while both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices fell by 0.12% and 0.14% respectively.

KSE’s trading value shrank 22.9% to KWD 7.67 million, while the trading volume increased 1.4% to reach 65.91 million shares.

The technology sector topped five gainers with a 2.16% growth, backed by Automated Systems which rose 7.35% to rank second among rising stocks.

Meanwhile, the telecom sector led seven decliners by 0.8%, as Zain and Viva fell 1.47% and 1.08% respectively. The banks sector retreated 0.6%, dragged by AUB and CBK which lost 3.12% and 2.4% respectively.

Burgan Company for Well Drilling led the losers by a plunge of 7% to 93 fils, after one transactions was made through around 3,500 shares at a value of KWD 326.

Zima Holding was the most active stock with 11.6 million shares traded at a value of KWD 523,000. The stock levelled down by 2.22%.

NBK recorded the highest liquidity of KWD 2.24 million, as 4 million shares were exchanged. The stock ended the session at 560 fils.
