Kuwaiti bourse’s indices fall at close Wednesday

Kuwait – Mubasher: The Kuwaiti bourse ended Wednesday’s session with a grouped decline for its indices which were dragged by the fall of nine sectors.

KSE’s benchmark index retreated 0.61% or 33.43 points to close at 5,473.62 points; both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices fell 0.46% and 0.56% respectively.

 Turnover shrank by 13.7% to KWD 6.16 million, after trading volume decreased 16.4% to 52.02 million shares.

The consumer services sector led nine decliners by a fall of 1.7%, dragged by Kuwait Cable which lost 10.9% to be the top loser.

The basic materials sector was the only gainer by a rise of 0.29%, backed by Qurain which gained about 1%.

Bayan was the most active stock on which 5.05 million shares were traded through 28 transactions at a value of about KWD 169,140. The stock ended the session down 1.5%.

Zain recorded the highest liquidity that reached KWD 1.65 million, as 4.93 million shares were exchanged. The stock closed at 335 fils.
