Kuwait – Mubasher: Kuwait Stock Exchange indices ended the first quarter of 2016 on a down note, while capitalisation lost around KWD 1.3 billion ($4.3 billion).
The price index fell by 6.88% to reach 5,228.75 points, from 5,615.12 points in the previous quarter. The weighted index also shed 22 points or 5.73% to 359.82 points from 381.7 points. KSX15 she 22 points or 5.73% to 359.82 points, from 381.7 points.
Market capitalisation amounted to KWD 24.88 billion ($82.24 billion), down 4.9% from KWD 26.16 billion ($86.47 billion) at the end of the fourth quarter of 2015.
The quarterly traded value rose by 6.5% to KWD 835.85 million, from KWD 785.1 million. Traded volume also increased by 16% to 9.45 billion shares from 8.15 billion shares.
