Kuwaiti bourse starts session in red zone

Kuwait – Mubasher: The price index of Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) levelled down 0.53% or 29.38 points to reach 5,486.78 points by 9:30am Kuwait time on Tuesday.

The weighted and Kuwait-15 indices also fell by 0.51% and 0.62% respectively.

Liquidity amounted to KWD 2.4 million, after 33.24 million shares were traded through 831 transactions.

The industrial sector led the decliners by a fall of 0.93%, dragged by Humansoft and Mayadeen which retreated by 6.3% and 1.7% respectively.

The technology sector topped the gainers by a rise of 0.57%, backed by Hayat which gained 4.65%.

Arabi Group headed the losers by 8.8%, while Ithmaar Bank topped the winners by 7.14%.

Ithmaar Bank was the most active stock on which 8.4 million shares were traded at a value of about KWD 305,200.
