Kuwaiti gauges diverge in performance amid more liquidity

Kuwait-Mubasher: The price index of Kuwait’s stock market retreated 0.16% or 8.61 points to close at 5,257.2 points on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the weighted index gained 0.63% or 2.24 points to reach 359.95 points, and the KSX 15 index levelled up 1.15% or 12 points to 849.52 points.

Today’s liquidity increased by 77.3% to KWD 25.02 million, while trading volume decreased by 11.5% to 238.13 million shares.

The telecom sector topped the gainers by adding 1.25%, powered by Viva and Zain, while Ooredoo fell by 5.56%.

The insurance sector led the decliners with a loss of 1.49%, as Kuwait Insurance fell by 7.46%.

Investors Group was the most active as 26.06 million shares were traded with a value of about KWD 594,160. The stock gained 2.27%.

With KWD 9.93 million, KFH recorded the highest turnover, after 18.86 million shares were exchanged. The stock rose by 2% to 520 fils.
