Kuwaiti indices end 3-day losing streak

Kuwait – Mubasher: The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) recorded its first rise in the week on Wednesday, as the main index added 0.04% or 1.92 point to the level of 5,253.72 points.

The weighted index also ticked higher 0.49% or 1.74 point to 358.62 points, and the KSX 15 index increased 0.76% or 6.38 points to 841.53 points.

Trading volume increased 29.2% to 132.4 million shares, versus 102.5 million shares exchanged yesterday.

Meanwhile, turnover decreased 9% to KWD 12.38 million ($41.02 million) from KWD 13.6 million ($45.06 million) on Tuesday.

The technology was the best performing sector with a rise of 1.87% as Hayat Communications grew 3.77%.

The oil and gas sector fell 1.22% after an 8.33% drop in Independent Petroleum Group.

Amwal International Investment topped gainers by adding 7.32%, while Al Dar National Real Estate was the worst performing share after falling 10.81%, making the biggest trading volume with 19.8 million shares.

With liquidity of KWD 2.3 million ($7.6 million), Zain made the highest trading value . The stock rose 1.33%.

Zain’s shareholders agreed today on distributing 30% cash dividends at or 30 fils for the fiscal year 2015, compared to 40 fils for 2014.
