Mubasher: Kuwait’s inflation rose 0.44% year-on-year in January, according to data released by Kuwait’s Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) on Wednesday.
The Gulf nation’s consumer price index (CPI) inched down 0.09% to 113.4 points last month.
The prices of seven segments increased year-on-year in January, including the tobacco, which surged 14.3% in the mentioned period.
Meanwhile, four segments recorded lower prices in the first month of the year, among them the residents, whose prices declined 1.2%, CSB’s data showed.
Month-on-month, five segments reported higher prices in January, while the prices of three segments went down.
Prices stabilised in four segments last month, compared to the month before.
