Mubasher: Kuwait’s crude oil exports to Japan saw the first decline in the last three months as they decreased by 8.5% year-on-year (YoY) in November 2019 to stand at 7.84 million barrels per day (bpd), according to official data from Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The Gulf country’s exports accounted for 8.9% of Japan’s total oil imports, with Kuwait being the third largest oil exporter to Japan, the Japanese Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) disclosed on Monday.
On an annual basis, Japan’s total imports slipped by 5.7% to reach 2.9 million bpd, posting a decline for the fourth consecutive month.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has regained its place as the top oil exporter to Japan, yet posted a slid of 2.7% on an annual basis at 1.12 million bpd.
It is noteworthy that Japan is the world’s third largest oil consumer, following China and the US.
