Kuwaiti oil falls 37 cents Thursday – KPC

Kuwait – Mubasher: The price per barrel (pb) of Kuwaiti oil fell on Thursday by 37 cents to $52.37 pb from $52.74 pb on Wednesday, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Friday, citing data by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC).

Globally, oil prices rose slightly at the closing of Thursday's session on growing hopes of a possible rebalancing of supply and demand, a statement reiterated by Saudi Aramco's CEO Amin Nasser on Friday.

Meanwhile, Baker Hughes Oilfield Services reported an increase in the number of new US oil rigs by 11 over the past week, bringing the total number to 683 rigs, threatening the highly-anticipated market rebalancing.

Brent crude edged up slightly by 0.05% or 3 cents to $55.89 per barrel at close on Thursday, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) added 7 cents and closed at $53.18 pb.
