Kuwaiti property sales drop 23% in 2016

Kuwait - Mubasher: The Kuwaiti real estate sector activities declined by 23% in 2016 compared to the year before, with sales totalling KWD 2.3 billion as an outcome of 4,246 transactions, the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) said in a recent report.

The residential sector sales reached KWD 944 million in 2016 through 2,487 transactions, decreasing by 31% year-on-year.

Real estate investment also saw a weak performance in 2016, as it shrank by 33%, achieving KWD 817 million through 1,300 transactions, the report indicated.
