Kuwaiti stock exchange up, bolstered by banks

Kuwait-Mubasher: Kuwait Stock Exchange’s (KSE) price index gained 0.26% or 13.55 points to close at 5,265.81 points on Tuesday. The weighted index grew by 0.27% to 357.71 points.

Meanwhile, the KSX 15 index fell by 0.13% or 1.12 points to reach 836.85 points.

Today’s liquidity shrank by 32.4% to KWD 14.11 million, while trading volume increased by 53.3% to 269.06 million shares.

KSE’s banks sector topped the gainers by 0.63% growth, backed by Burgan Bank which rose by 1.49%.

The oil and gas sector led the decliners by a 0.83% drop, dragged by Energy House which fell by 5.05%.

Taiba Kuwaiti Holding was the top winner by a 13.33% increase, while Marakez headed the losers by a drop of 9.26%.  

Investors Group was the most active as 97.42 million shares were exchanged with a value of KWD 2.27 million. However, the stock fell by 4.35%.

NBK recorded the highest turnover which exceeded KWD 2.3 million, as 3.37 million shares were traded. The stock settled at 690 fils.
