Mubasher: Kuwaitis’ spending on outbound tourism rose by 21.3% year-on-year (YoY) during the first nine months of 2019.
The value of spending on travelling abroad reached KWD 4 billion ($13.23 billion) in the nine-month period ended 30 September when compared to KWD 3.30 billion ($10.91 billion) a year earlier, based on data from the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).
Over the first quarter (Q1) of 2019, spending on tourism abroad by Kuwaitis hiked by 36.5% to stand at KWD 1.44 billion, while in Q2, the value soared by 41.99% at KWD 1.47 billion, whereas shedding by 9.76% in Q3 to reach KWD 1.8 billion.
It is worth noting that in 2018, Kuwaitis' spending on travelling abroad amounted to KWD 4.03 billion, up by 17.6% from 2017.
