LG Electronics mulls $170m investments in Egypt’s tablet sector

Cairo – Mubasher: LG Electronics aims to enhance cooperation with Egypt in the tablet manufacturing sector with investments of $170 million, the vice president of the South Korean company said.

In addition, the tech giant plans to inject new investments of $15 million into production lines in 2020, the top official added in a statement released by the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation on Tuesday.

The total value of LG Electronics’ exports reached $130 million, he added.

Investments of the giant manufacturer in the Egyptian market stood at $280 million, he revealed, noting that the company increased its capital by EGP 180 million in 2018.
