Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian communications and information technology minister has discussed the possibility of manufacturing tablet computers in Egypt with a delegation from South Korea-based LG Electronics.
Moreover, both parties have considered means of boosting the company’s investments in the Egyptian market, Amr Talaat said in a statement.
Talaat highlighted the importance of collaborating with LG under the presidential initiative ‘Egypt can manufacture electronics” that aims to design and produce electronics locally and exporting them.
The current and future stages require a huge supply of electronics in light of the major national projects being executed to achieve the state’s digital transformation strategy, the minister remarked.
This came during on a meeting between the minister and LG’s head of mobile phones and tablet computers department Maurice Lee, and CEO of LG Egypt Don Kwak.
