Lack of liquidity, global scene keep weighing on QSE

Doha – Mubasher:  The undermining factors influencing stock markets around the world since the end of last year have left the Gulf bourses and Qatar’s in bearish mood most lately, financial analyst and economic advisor Ahmed Aql told Mubasher

“Many portfolios, investors and leading shareholders were only focusing on settlements and annual disclosures in order to improve their stock position, which ultimately led to the rebounds we saw before the latest retreats,” Aql explained.

Aql attributed the recent falls to the decreasing liquidity that may keep pressuring the market, and on the other hand lauded the margin trading system, saying that it is one of the positive factors that the Qatari bourse strives for.

The benchmark index declined yesterday by 0.82% or 82.03 points to the level of 9,959.67 points.
