Leading Stocks push QSE up on Tuesday

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday in green, recovering from losses in early trading, backed by the growth in six sectors.

The main index rose 0.49% or 40.48 points to 8,253.34 points.

Leading stocks supported the hike, with Industries Qatar going up 2.35%, followed by Al Rayan and QNB, with 0.69% and 0.02%, respectively.

The industrials sector topped the gainers with 1.36%, on the back of QIMC with 3.88%.

The banks also rose 0.04%, pushed up by six stocks, led by Dlala Holding with 1.75%.

On the other hand, the insurance sector was the only loser, with 0.13%, dragged down by Al Kaleej Takaful with 6.87%.

The trading activity shrank, as turnover declined to QAR 122.48 million from QAR 186.04 million, while trading volume slid to 6.01 million shares, as compared to 10.13 million shares on Monday.

Investment holding, down 2.37%, achieved highest trading activity with 1.8 million shares traded, while Industries Qatar acquired the highest turnover at QAR 21.5 million.
