Leading stocks drag DFM to close Monday in red

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended Monday’s session down, under the pressure of the leading stocks.

The general index declined 0.49 points or 0.01% to 3,610.82 points.

 The market sectors showed mixed performance, with the insurance topping the gainers, with 1%, followed by the telecommunications and the real estate, with 0.56% and 0.07%, respectively.

On the other hand, the transportation sector led the losers with 0.75%, followed by the investment and the banks, with 0.12% and 0.04%, respectively.

As for the stocks, Emaar went up 0.58% to AED 8.64, and Drake and Scull rose 6.14% to AED 1.9; however, GFH, Aramex, and Dubai Islamic dropped 3.5%, 1.4%, and 0.16%, respectively.

Trading value fell to AED 433.3 million from AED 505.8 million, after trading 310.9 million shares, as compared to 361.9 million shares on Sunday, through 4,871 transactions.

Drake and Scull achieved the highest trading activity, with 74.3 million shares traded, generating AED 136.8 million, through 931 transactions.
