Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Monday in red, pressured by the drop in six sectors, led by the banks and industrials.
The main index fell by 0.5% or 40.92 points to 8,117.41 points.
The fall in many leading stocks pressured the index, led by QNB with 0.33%, followed by Rayan and Industries Qatar, with 0.28% and 0.21%, respectively.
In terms of sectors, the insurance led the losers, with 2.97%, dragged down by four sectors, led by Qatar Insurance with 3.23%.
The industrials also slid 0.54%, after the fall in seven stocks, led by The Investors with 3.05%, whereas the banks fell 0.42%, under the pressure of Al Ahli, which lost 7.71%.
The only gainer was the real estate sector, with 2.54%, pushed up by Ezdan, the top gainer, with 4.54%.
Traded value rose to QAR 165.43 million from QAR 126.27 million, while trading volume declined to 8.11 million shares from 11.85 million shares.
Qatar First Bank, down 2.35%, was the most active in terms of trading volume, with 2.19 million shares, while QNB achieved the highest liquidity with QAR 33.13 million.
