Loans to residents in Kuwait decline to KWD 35.6bn in October

Mubasher: Kuwaiti banks' loans to residents in Kuwait decreased by 0.6% month-on-month to KWD 35.60 billion in October 2017 compared to KWD 35.82 billion in September, according to the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) data on Wednesday.

Credit facilities increased by 4.6% year-on-year compared to KWD 34.05 billion in October 2016, the CBK said.

Loans granted to individuals acquired the largest value of KWD 14.92 billion, yet declining by 0.7% from September when loans reached KWD 15.03 billion.

Loans given to non-banking institutions stood at KWD 1.32 billion.

While loans given to non-residents in Kuwait increased by 2.1% to KWD 1.94 billion in October compared to KWD 1.90 billion in September.
