Local, foreign buying boost EGX higher early Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw an upward trend early Monday on the back of local and foreign buying.

By 10:22 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index opened the session up 0.32% or 44.33 points to the level of 14,068 points.

The EGX70 index inched up 0.03% to 777.52 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.10% to 1,748.09 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.42% to 2,500 points.

Trading volume reached 38 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 105.5 million through 3,200 transactions.

Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 15.5 million and EGP 6.3 million, respectively, while Arab were net sellers with EGP 21.9 million.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) slipped 0.17% to EGP 76.
