Local buying boosts EGX at Tuesday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday's trading session in green territory on the back of local buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index inched up 0.86% to finish the mid-week session at 15,921.03 points.

The small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 grew 0.54% to 779.33 points, while the broader index EGX100 levelled up 0.81% to 1,993.33 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index added 1.87% to 2,690 points.

Market capitalisation increased EGP 6.5 billion to EGP 887.5 billion.

The bourse’s trading volume reached 220.89 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.05 billion through 24,500 transactions.

Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 154.11 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 134.4 million, and EGP 19.6 million, respectively.
