Local buying pushes EGX higher early Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session up on the back of local buying.

By 10:26 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index grew 150.13 points, or 0.97%, to 15,669.68 points.

The EGX70index jumped 1.46% to 877.36 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.87% to 2,126 points.

The equal-weighted EX50 index went up 0.63% to 2,715 points.

Trading volume reached about 28.2 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 108.3 million through 3,500 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 57.3 million, while non-Arab and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 216,200 and EGP 57.12 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) leveled up 0.7% to EGP 77.5 at a turnover of EGP 2.8 million.
