Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday’s trading session up on the back of local buying.
By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 43 points, or 0.29%, to 15,967.44 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.13% to 780.67 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.26% to 1,998 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.41% to 2,701 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 24.31 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 86.9 million through 3,020 transactions.
Egyptian investors were mostly buyers, netting EGP 3.9 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 320,800 and EGP 3.6 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched up 0.05% to EGP 84.5, with a turnover of EGP 8.4 million.
