Local purchases boost EGX early Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has seen an upward trend early Sunday on the back of purchases by Egyptian investors.

 By 10:26 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 26.10 points, or 0.18%, to 14,691 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.05% to 686.26 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.11% to 1,741 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.32% to 2,397 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 10.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 42.5 million through 1,300 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 4.5 million, whereas foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 124,400 and EGP 4.44 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slid 0.13% to EGP 68.06, with a turnover of EGP 910,000.
