Local sell-off weigh on EGX early Thursday

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) have fallen slightly on Thursday, dragged down by local sell-off.

By 10:19 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched down 0.01% to 15,196 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index dipped 0.01% to 676.85 points, while the broader EGX100 index slipped 0.02% to 1,726.7 points.

On the other hand, the equal-weighted EGX50 index remained stable at 2,412 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to around 3.5 million shares exchanged through 683 transactions at a turnover of EGP 54.88 million.

Egyptian traders were net sellers with EGP 1.9 million, whereas Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 1.18 million and EGP 813,300, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched down 0.07% to EGP 73.93, with a turnover of EGP 4,066.
