Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Hotel facilities in Abu Dhabi have notably revived in November 2017, in line with the inauguration of Louvre Abu Dhabi and Etihad Airways’ organisation of 2017 Formula 1 World Championship.
Hotel guests in the UAE grew by 16% in November 2017, as compared with the corresponding period of 2016, according to statistics by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism.
About 162 hotels, resorts, and apartment hotels in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra have welcomed 4.3 million guests in the first 11 months of 2017, rising 9%, compared to the year-ago period, statistics showed.
Louvre Abu Dhabi, which was opened on 11 November 2017, has contributed to boosting the number of French visitors by 32% year-on-year in November; this number is forecast to climb in 2018.
Guests from the US surged by 50% in November, while guests from China, the UK, and Germany rose by 38%, 36%, and 21%, respectively.
Meanwhile, domestic tourism included approximately 121,130 guests.
China dominated the first rank in terms of guest number as hotel facilities in Abu Dhabi welcomed about 334,000 Chinese guests in the first 11 months of 2017, with a growth rate of 63% y-o-y.
