Low oil prices seen favouring Bahrain’s industrial sector

Mubasher: The decreasing oil prices may be in the favor of the industrial sector in Bahrain, since local factories depend on oil and gas as the main source of energy, said a senior official in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The industrial sector in Bahrain is sustainable enough to survive the crisis in oil prices, said the ministry’s undersecretary Osama Alorrayedh.

He announced that his ministry has recently issued 12 industrial licenses for projects valued at KWD 2.55 million.

On another note, Alorrayedh stated that the ministry has given 12 initial approvals on investments worth KWD 1 million this year.
