UAE –Mubasher: LuLu Group opened its ninth hypermarket in the emirate of Sharjah, bringing up the total number of its stores to 168, the Indian group said in a statement.
The move is in line with the group’s expansion plan across the UAE to cater to the growing needs of the vast multinational consumers of residing in the country, the hypermarket retail chain added.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
Located at Al Rayyan Mall in Al Nahda in the GCC emirate, the newly opened hypermarket expands over an area of 100,000 square feet, the statement showed.
It has been designed using the latest retail space concepts and most modern technology for ease of shopping and will serve the residents of Al Nahda and its nearby areas.
“As part of our expansion plans in the current year, 15 new hypermarkets will be opened in UAE at various locations of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. This includes projects in Sajah, Rahmaniya, Um Al Tarafa in Sharjah and Al Rahba, Al Falah, Ghadeer, Shahama in Abu Dhabi & Rashidiya, Hamriya in Dubai,” Yusuffali MA, chairman and managing director of Lulu Group, commented.
LuLu will open another 32 hypermarkets and shopping malls across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region during 2019.
