Luxury Collection and Westin Saraya Aqaba Sign MoU with USAID

Decypha: Al Manara, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Jordan, and Westin Saraya Aqaba have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to develop the tourism and economy of the city of Aqaba, Jordan.

Under the agreement, the two hotels will focus their efforts to support the tourism facilities and services in Jordan, enhance the management and promotion of tourist sites, develop their marketing efforts, and promote the tourism sector in general.

The hotels will provide more than 500 new hotel rooms and suites in the Aqaba region, ten restaurants and shops for food and beverage, and a wide range of customized wellness facilities, meetings and conferences.

Commenting on the MoU, Gregory de Klerk, Al Manara’s General Manager of Facilities said, “The goals of the MoU fall in line with our vision of supporting and developing Jordanian Talent. We are working diligently to attract and train local talent to equip them to work in our Hotels.”

"We are trying through tourism project to promote economic sustainability in Jordan and to develop the local economy by focusing on youth training and development. We hope that this joint cooperation with the chain Starwood Aqaba Hotel will improve the tourism and economic sectors alike for the Jordanian youth," said Ibrahim Osta, Head of the Tourism project to promote economic sustainability in Jordan of USAID.

Saraya Aqaba is a luxury tourist destination, developed primarily to redefine coastal living standards, and to contribute positively to the economic and social development of the area of ​​Aqaba. Upon completion of the project, Saraya Aqaba will provide more than 850 upscale residential units, in addition to the four hotels from five-star to add more than 1,000 bedrooms to accommodate tourists.

The project also provides for its residents and guests access to a variety of shops, restaurants, a water park, amphitheater, beach club for residents, and a number of other destinations recreational and private businessmen.
