MIT Arab Startup Competition to hold bootcamp in Thuwal

Riyadh – Mubasher: The MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF) Arab Startup Competition (ASC) will hold its 13th edition in partnership with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Hub71, and Community Jameel.

Meanwhile, the 4th edition of the MIT Enterprise Forum Saudi Arabia will be held in partnership with KAUST and King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).

KAUST will host an intensive training bootcamp for over 100 semifinalist startups in the City of Thuwal, Saudi Arabia on 1-3 March, where semifinalist teams will receive training as per the track they applied for, namely the startups track, ideas track, and the social entrepreneurship track.

The final round of the competition will take place in Jeddah on 7 March.

Winners will then join the finalists of the MITEF Pan Arab Startup Competition and go through a final round of on 8 April in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Semifinalist teams will compete to win cash prizes, mentorship opportunities, training, as well as networking with MENA investors and media.

Since the start of the competition a dozen years ago, a total of 430 startups were established across the MENA region, more than 2,400 Arab entrepreneurs were trained, and winners received a $1.24 million in equity-free investment.
