Mubasher: Qatar’s Ministry of Transport and Communication (MOTC) has signed an agreement with Meeza for providing government cloud and infrastructure services for the state-run entities in the world's richest country per capita.
The agreement is part of the MOTC’s plans for accomplishing the objectives of the Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy through finding out innovative solutions and enabling the state-owned entities to fulfill their goals, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
The ministry is at pains to create efficiency in government administration and maximise opportunities to make better use of public funds in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The world’s biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) eyes ensuring fast and reliable accessibility to information technology with reduced operational and capital expenditures within its 2030’s vision, the statement added, giving no further details on the value of the deal.
Cloud computing services provided by Qatari Managed IT Services and Solutions supplier aim at increasing operational efficiency of the IT infrastructure and reducing operational costs at government entities, Hassan Jassim Al Sayed, MOTC’s Assistant Undersecretary of Government Information Technology Sector, commented.
