MSM 30 back to losses in Nov. ; loses 380 points

Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market’s (MSM) main index, MSM 30, plummeted 6.42% or 380 points to the level of 5,547.8 points, versus 5,928.15 points reached in October.

Sharia Index also declined 4.68% to the level of 872.79 points, compared to 912.81 last month.

Trading value shrank by 67% to OMR 66.48 million from OMR 203.195 million reached in October. Trading volume also dropped by 81% to 266.69 million shares traded, against 1.4 billion shares exchanged in October.

Financial, services and industrial sectors all fell by 8.9%, 2.50% and 6.24% respectively.

Eight shares, out of 75 companies, ended the month with high trends, 51 others slipped and the 16 remaining stayed at the same rates.

The market share value hit OMR 14.66 billion this month with a 0.40% month-on-month decrease, compared to OMR 14.72 reached in October.

MSM 30 rose in October by 2.43% or 140.46 points to 5,928.15 points.
