MSM 30 closes 0.07% lower; ends 4-day gaining streak

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market’s (MSM) benchmark MSM 30 ended a four-day gaining streak after closing Wednesday with a fall of 0.07% or 4.23 points to 5,979.75 points.

The Shariah index also shrank 0.03% or 0.31 point to the level of 883.97 points.

Trading volume reached 20.96 million shares exchanged at OMR 3.66 million, compared to 47.18 million exchanged yesterday at OMR 13.98 million.

The financial and industrial sectors declined 0.5% and 0.22% respectively, while the services advanced 0.77%.

Global Financial Investment topped gainers by adding 7.41%, whereas Gulf Investments Services Holding led decliners after falling 4.44%.

Galfar Engineering made the highest trading activity with a volume of 7.64 million shares and a turnover of OMR 886,580.

MSM 30 rose yesterday by 0.54% or 31.89 points to 5,983.99 points.
