MSM 30 closes 0.27% higher

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Sunday in the green zone as the benchmark MSM 30 advanced 0.27% or 15.86 points to 5,995.61 points.

The Shariah index also rose by 0.24% or 2.13 points to the level of 886.10 points.

Trading volume decreased 7.13% to 19.55 million shares from 20.96 million shares exchanged on Wednesday. Turnover, however, increased 7.30% to OMR 3.94 million from OMR 3.66 million.

The market suspended trading on Thursday on the occasion of the Al Israa wal Miraj holiday.

The services, financial and industrial sectors rose collectively by 0.89%, 0.42% and 0.32% respectively.

National Gas was the best performing share after rising 7.90%, while Oman Investment topped losers after falling 0.98%.

Al Anwar Holdings made the highest liquidity with OMR 907,610, while Galfar Engineering was the largest-traded stock with 5.14 million shares.

The index closed Wednesday with a fall of 0.07% or 4.23 points to the level of 5,979.75 points.
