Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market’s (MSM) main index, MSM 30, closed in red for the second day in a row on Monday, as it plunged 0.29% or 15.76 points to the level of 5,439.5 points, and the Sharia Index fell 0.68% or 5.6 points to 526.3 points.
Turnover decreased today to OMR 1.92 million from OMR 2.480 million on Sunday. Trading volume reached 8.83 million shares through 553 trades, versus 12.9 million shares exchanged through 696 transactions.
The financial sector rose alone by 0.05%, while the industrial and services sectors dipped 1.28% and 0.74% respectively.
Out of 36 companies, six shares closed in green, ten others moved down and the remaining 20 were flat.
Oman Textile was the best performing share after adding 2.5%, while Galfar Engineering was the worst with a fall of 9.5%.
Bank Muscat was the most active share after making a trading volume activity of 1.78 million shares exchanged at OMR 799,400, and the share closed at OMR 0.446.
MSM 30 closed yesterday in green due to a positive performance by the financial sector.
